Step-Ups

Step-Ups are great for those of you who are just starting their balance training. It may look easy, but it requires some thought as you step up onto the balance pad and adjust your balance. To begin, stand on the floor with the AIREX® balance pad in front of you. Then carefully step onto the pad, lifting yourself up and bring your other foot up to meet it. Hold this position for about 1-2 seconds to maintain balance before stepping back down. Repeat this process as many times as you feel necessary.

Single Leg

A good way to really practice your balance and coordination is to stand up on one leg. Using a balance pad can really amp this exercise up as you try to adjust your weight to one leg while on the pad. To begin, stand on the AIREX® balance pad with your feet close together. Then extend your arms out to your side and slowly lift one leg up while bending your knee. Make sure you are raising your knee as much as possible so that it can be at hip level. Hold this position for about 20 seconds before returning to starting position. Now perform this exercise on the opposite leg. Repeating this exercise 5 to 10 times on each side.

Planks

Planks are an amazing exercise for your core just on their own. Adding a balance pad can make your elbows more comfortable but can also increase the challenge. To begin, carefully lower yourself down to the floor into a kneeling position with the AIREX® balance pad in front of you. Then place your forearms on the balance pad and extend your legs back behind you, lifting your toes up. Make sure your body is in a straight line. Hold this position for about 20 to 60 seconds.
