High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a training technique in which short bursts of maximum effort exercise are followed by short, sometimes active recovery periods. This type of training is great if you’re looking to lose weight because it gets your heart rate up and burns more body fat in less time. It’s about as close as you can get to a magic weight loss pill.

HIIT workouts have become increasingly popular over the past three or four years. The workouts can be done in a variety of ways at any level of difficulty. If you’re looking to add a HIIT workout and strength train, look no further than this video by Grokker. This workout was designed by Kathryn Marie, a certified personal trainer. The workout uses a kettlebell (or dumbbell) and takes about a half an hour. This workout is great because it will get your heart pumping and target virtually every part of your body.
