Ideally used shortly after waking, the SunLite should sit to the right or left of the line of sight as to maximize the light reaching the eyes. Eyes should be kept open during light therapy - read, talk or work while it's on - but users are recommended to not look directly at the light. The lamp delivers 10,000 LUX at 10". For reference, LUX is the measure of how much light reaches a given surface from a measured distance. 10,000 LUX is the amount of light needed for bright light therapy to be effective. Lamps over 10,000 LUX do not offer more therapeutic benefits. At only 3.25 lbs., this lightweight and compact unit is ideal for home and travel. Keep one on the bedside table and one on the desk at work. Features a flip-out stand for easy set up. Lamp is 99.3 percent UV-filtered for safety.
